  • Groom stories in the backlog to ensure they meet the definition of ready.
  • Complete tasks assigned by the project manager and workstream lead to agreed timescales, scope, and quality measures.
  • Work under the direction of the HSBC product owner for the in-house product.
  • Liaise between surveillance IT and users, management of stakeholders, and project staff, including surveillance IT teams, vendors, users, project sponsors, managers of other projects, and other departments within HSBC.
  • Manage workstream activities, prioritizing work activities and issues arising, arranging workshops, tracking progress, promoting collaboration, and escalating issues that cannot be addressed by the workstream staff.
  • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, including documentation of requirements and acceptance criteria, analysis, design, implementation, designing tests, managing test exercises, coordinating fixes, release management, go-live, and user support.
  • Carry out the full cycle of software implementation, including build, test, and go-live.
  • Support IT leads and surveillance officer "ruleset owners" in designing and delivering new detection logic for 4-5 new detection models in equity.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal policies and control standards, and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group's standards of ethical behaviour.
  • Use and adapt the HSBC Disciplined Agile methodology.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, process design, and control implementation within the world's top 10 investment banks.
  • Global implementation of technology solutions.
  • Involvement in a full project lifecycle, including documentation of requirements, development and implementation, test management, release planning, go-live, and user-support.
  • Experience of equity and/or fixed income products, including cash equity, equity futures, and options, OTC derivatives, and swaps in equity, bonds, ABS, MBS, interest rate swaps, bond futures, and other fixed income OTC derivatives, in an investment banking context, within a function or department that faces the front-office.
  • Experience in Regulatory or Surveillance business processes and case or alert workflow applications in trade surveillance, regulatory reporting, or market abuse.
  • Accountability for delivery – takes ownership of tasks assigned to ultimate resolution with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate with users from around the world and from different cultural backgrounds, relationship management, and flexible interpersonal skills.
  • Disciplined Agile and SAFE framework experience.
  • Experienced in working with resources in geographically dispersed teams, appreciating and respecting local cultures.
