Job Title: System Health Monitor

Overview:

  • This role is critical for monitoring system health, managing incident communications and ensuring high reliability of globally deployed web applications.
  • As a key member of the operations team you will be responsible for detecting failures and performance issues in microservices architecture on Kubernetes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Grafana Dashboards and Observability Tools: Detect failures and performance issues in globally deployed microservices architecture on Kubernetes.
  • Primary SRE for Incident Response: Initiate reports from automated alerts or join active incident channels.
  • Main Point of Contact: Deliver frequent updates to customers and incident commanders during incidents.
  • Operational Metrics Analysis: Interpret Quantiles, P99 and Prometheus data to assess system health.
  • Maintenance and Collaboration: Track and manage permutations of a globally deployed microservices architecture running on Kubernetes. Collaborate with engineering and support teams to resolve issues quickly and efficiently.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience monitoring and responding to incidents in a globally deployed web application.
  • Strong experience with microservices architecture on Kubernetes.
  • Deep understanding of observability tools and operational metrics (Grafana, Prometheus, P99 etc.).
  • Familiarity with cloud services.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills – must be able to clearly articulate status and updates to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to ramp up quickly, take ownership and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
