AI Vision Platform Engineer

About this role:

We're seeking an exceptional Senior Full Stack Engineer to build and lead the development of our AI vision platform. This is a high-velocity, AI-native role where you'll leverage AI development tools to build at unprecedented speed while maintaining enterprise-grade quality and security standards.

This AI engineer will be responsible for creating the entire software ecosystem that transforms military object detection models into a production-ready, scalable platform. The ideal candidate will have experience with image processing pipelines, AI model integration layers, quality control systems, data management platforms, end-user interfaces, and scalable infrastructure.

The successful candidate will be able to work closely with AI researchers to understand model requirements, architect systems that are both performant and maintainable, balance speed of development with code quality and security, and effectively lead and mentor a small development team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Image Processing Pipeline: Automated systems for image ingestion, preprocessing, and patch generation
  • AI Model Integration Layer: Seamless integration of object detection and classification models
  • Quality Control Systems: Automated validation and human-in-the-loop review workflows
  • Data Management Platform: Robust database systems for storing, indexing, and retrieving intelligence data
  • End-User Interface: Intuitive platforms for intelligence dissemination and visualization
  • Scalable Infrastructure: Cloud-native architecture handling large-scale data processing

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering with 2+ years in AI/ML system integration
  • Proven track record of leading technical teams (2-10 developers)
  • Experience shipping production ML/AI systems at scale
  • Expert-level proficiency in leveraging AI coding tools
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI assistants for rapid prototyping, code generation, and debugging
  • Experience with AI-powered testing, documentation, and deployment tools
  • Track record of delivering projects 2-3x faster than traditional development approaches

Technical Skills:

  • Backend Development: Python, Node.js, or Go for high-performance systems
  • Computer Vision Integration: Experience with OpenCV and ML model deployment
  • Database Systems: PostgreSQL or similar for geospatial and metadata storage
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS with container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • API Development: RESTful APIs for system integration
  • DevOps: CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring systems
