Job Title: Senior Data Governance Specialist

This is a senior-level position that requires leadership and expertise in data governance.

  • This role involves building and supporting tools and technology required to enable the Enterprise Data Governance program.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for leading primary contributors for tool implementation of Data governance programs, as well as developing solutions for Data governance in popular tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc. to enable data cataloging, meta data management, and data lineage of the enterprise's applications and data sources.
  • The candidate will also enable enterprise level integration of metadata stores for business users to search and understand information by developing standard business glossaries and data dictionaries.

Responsibilities include:

  • Implementing a solution for Data Cataloging with a Data governance tool to establish clear data ownership along with access control management.
  • Building custom integrations between the Data governance tool and various data stores to map and view data lineage.
  • Migrating from existing (and different) data sources like SharePoint, Excel, etc. to a Data Governance tool.
  • Implementing a Workflow management system to optimize, improve, and automate the Data Governance workflows for the data stewards to increase output, eliminate repetition, and reduce errors.
  • Tracking, investigating, and correcting data quality issues in a Data Governance tool and setting up data quality rules for data validation and standardization.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related fields, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience utilizing tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc. to implement Data governance programs.
  • 5+ years of experience in data management space under any area.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders and leaders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data privacy requirements and challenges.
  • Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies.
