Job Title: Due Diligence Expert

Mortgage lenders seek meticulous professionals to verify loan applications and property values. This critical role ensures the integrity of the lending process.


Main Responsibilities:
  • Analyze mortgage applications for completeness and accuracy.
  • Evaluate borrower profiles, including credit history and financial information.
  • Validate property values through appraisal reports and valuation tools.

Credit & Financial Evaluation:
  • Review credit reports to assess borrower creditworthiness.
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documents.
  • Accurately calculate Debt-to-Income (DTI) and Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios.

Property Valuation Assessment:
  • Evaluate appraisal reports and alternative value products.
  • Ensure property valuations are reliable and accurate.

Compliance & Risk Management:
  • Verify compliance with federal, state, and local mortgage regulations.
  • Follow industry best practices, client requirements, and company policies.
  • Identify potential risks and assess the overall risk profile.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in mortgage underwriting, processing, or due diligence.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency in mortgage processing software, Excel, and financial tools.
  • Good communication skills to interact with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certification in mortgage underwriting or related areas is an advantage.
