Senior Accounting Manager Role

The Senior Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the financial accounting functions within a company. This role requires a deep understanding of construction accounting principles, financial management, and compliance.

  • This position is accountable for all aspects of the accounting operations and cash management of the Company, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets.
  • The ideal candidate will have worked in construction accounting/contractor accounting, possess knowledge of the percentage of completion method of accounting, and have experience working on project profitability.

The Senior Accounting Manager will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining fiscal discipline, and supporting the overall success of construction projects. The key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Preparing and analysing monthly and quarterly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Ensuring the monthly close is complete with all general ledger accounts reconciled and analysed, as appropriate, with variance analysis.
  • Coordinating and facilitating the construction draw process, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of funds for construction activities.
  • Managing the yearly audit and tax compliance process, including ensuring all information is in complete, accurate and available for the auditors.

Requirements:

  • CA / CPA with 7-8 years of experience in the real estate / construction industry.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and quality of deliverables.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to demonstrate critical thinking skills in decision making.
  • Ability to track and meet deadlines, focused on overcoming obstacles.
