Job Title: Data Architect – Snowflake & Matillion

Skillset:

Location: Remote Work

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement a comprehensive data architecture leveraging Snowflake and Matillion for data ingestion, transformation, and storage.
  2. Maintain data modeling standards, data flows, and best practices (dimensional, normalized, star/snowflake schemas).
  3. Evaluate and adopt tools in the modern data stack, ensuring scalability and alignment with business objectives.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and create robust data pipelines.
  5. Ensure data security, access controls, and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
  6. Optimize Snowflake performance via clustering, caching, query tuning, and cost management.
  7. Integrate data from APIs, databases, flat files, and third-party platforms.
  8. Establish data quality and metadata management practices.
  9. Provide subject matter expertise in Matillion orchestration, reusable job frameworks, and performance optimization.

Qualification Requirements:

To excel in this role, candidates must have:

  1. 5+ years of experience in data engineering/architecture.
  2. Proven expertise with Snowflake (multi-cluster warehouses, role-based access, data sharing).
  3. Strong pipeline development experience with Matillion ETL.
  4. Experience with data modeling & scalable cloud data platforms.
  5. Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (Python or Bash).
  6. Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).
  7. Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).

Preferred Qualifications:

Candidates with experience in:

  1. dbt, Airflow, orchestration tools.
  2. BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  3. Data governance/data catalog tools (Alation, Collibra, Atlan).
  4. ML platforms or real-time pipelines.

Soft Skills / Nice to Have:

  1. Excellent communication & analytical skills.
  2. Strong customer-centric mindset and structured approach.
  3. Ability to work independently and in fast-paced environments.
