About this role

Our company seeks a highly analytical Financial Operations Specialist to oversee all aspects of our Direct-to-Consumer finance and accounting operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in managing end-to-end financial operations for consumer brands, especially in high-growth environments. This role will be critical in ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance, and optimization of financial resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Operations Management: Oversee all financial functions including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, payroll, and inventory accounting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of books.
  • Maintain clean and compliant financial records in line with international financial standards.

D2C-Specific Financial Management:

  • Manage accounting for online sales platforms (Shopify, Amazon, etc.), including reconciliation of payouts, returns, and commissions.
  • Track customer refunds, chargebacks, and promotions across multiple channels.
  • Monitor logistics costs, warehousing expenses, and fulfillment-related accounting.
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation in systems integrated with D2C storefronts.

Taxation & Compliance:

  • Oversee all statutory compliance, including tax filings, regulatory submissions, and government audits.
  • Work with external auditors and government bodies for inspections and audits.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis:

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts with insights into sales, margins, and operational expenditures.
  • Analyze variances between actuals and forecasts, and present actionable insights.
  • Optimize cost-of-sales, gross margin, and working capital cycles.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting. Professional certifications preferred.
  • 3-5 years of financial experience, including at least 2 years in a D2C or e-commerce environment.
  • Proficient in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
  • Solid understanding of marketplace accounting and integrations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and a hands-on approach.
