Job Overview

We are seeking a WAN Support Engineer to operate and support WAN networks across global sites in a 24/7 rotational shift model.

The ideal candidate will have strong network troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience in BGP, and a proven background in WAN operations from a Telecom or ISP environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle L2 escalations and troubleshoot incidents related to routing, switching, and WAN link issues.
  • Configure and maintain BGP routing and manage changes, updates, and problem resolutions.
  • Collaborate with telecom vendors and ISPs for link provisioning, troubleshooting, and escalations.

Required Skills:

  • Strong network troubleshooting skills.
  • Hands-on experience in BGP.
  • Proven background in WAN operations from a Telecom or ISP environment.
  • Experience with MPLS, OSPF, QoS.
  • Exposure to enterprise monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Nagios, or PRTG.

Bonus Skills:

  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and ticketing tools.
  • Ability to create and update network diagrams and SOPs.

Network Uptime and SLA:

  • Ensure high network uptime.
  • Adhere to SLA targets.

Documentation:

  • Maintain documentation for shift handovers, ticket logs, and RCA reports.
