Job Title: Assistant Manager Plantation

Key objective of the role:

To guarantee end-to-end management of agricultural operations by overseeing land preparation, procurement of farming inputs, seed purchase planning as per the plantation strategy, and daily monitoring of crop health. This position is critical in maintaining visibility on the production plan, addressing on-ground challenges proactively, and aligning farm activities to achieve targeted yield and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Operational Management:
    • Land Validation: Developing land-specific best practices for energy crop farming.
    • Planning and Organizing: Designing and implementing planting, cultivation, and harvesting plans.
    • Resource Utilization: Overseeing the efficient use of resources, including land, labor, machinery, and finances.
    • Quality Assurance: Ensuring high-quality crops and products through adherence to standards and best practices.
    • Yield Enhancement: Implementing strategies to improve crop yields and overall productivity.
    • Labor Management: Developing and maintaining an efficient workforce, including recruitment, training, and supervision.
  • Sustainability and Compliance:
    • Sustainable Practices: Implementing and maintaining sustainable agricultural practices, including environmental stewardship and social responsibility.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Communication and Leadership:
    • Team Leadership: Training, motivating, and leading a team of employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Stakeholder Communication: Communicating effectively with stakeholders, including management, suppliers, and customers.
  • Specific Tasks:
    • Digital Integration: Monitoring and reporting all plantation sites.
    • Land Preparation: Overseeing land clearing, preparation, and maintenance.
    • Planting and Cultivation: Supervising planting, fertilization, pest control, gap filling, and other cultivation activities.
    • Harvesting and Post-Harvest Handling: Managing harvesting operations and ensuring proper post-harvest handling and storage.
    • Equipment Maintenance: Overseeing the maintenance and repair of farm equipment and machinery.
    • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all plantation activities.
