Job Description

As a skilled Sr. Engineer, you will play a crucial role in undertaking assessments of existing bridges and preparing comprehensive assessment reports. With your expertise in Steel Composite, Pretension/Posttension structures, and UK standards, you will ensure compliance with design and health and safety standards.

The primary responsibilities of this position include:

  1. Carrying out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair of bridges.
  2. Preparing new bridge designs and strengthening designs to meet UK standards.
  3. Conducting design and assessment checks (Cat II or Cat III) under the guidance of a Senior or Principal Engineer.
  4. Preparing or assisting others in compiling drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within given deadlines.

You will be responsible for following QA, document control, archiving, and CDM guidelines on all work. Additionally, you will ensure the correct implementation of document control and QA processes are followed for issue and filing/archiving of all work carried out.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment. You will also be proactive in developing and increasing your skills in MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM, ARCHIE, and other computer-aided design software.
