Role Overview:

As a Lead Interpretation Geologist, you will be responsible for integrating various geoscience data to build robust geological models and generate multiple development scenarios. This role involves providing technical input to the business unit and supporting planning & geo-steering of horizontal wells.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Validate and review geo-scientific data and maps.
  • Develop and maintain accurate 3D geological models of reservoirs.
  • Conduct volumetric estimations in multiple cases, capturing a range of uncertainties.
  • Perform quality control (QC) on map-based and model-based oil-in-place (OGIIP) estimates.
  • Generate alternative development scenarios based on well type, spacing, etc.
  • Review geological prognosis and well trajectories for development drilling.
  • Support operational geology teams during drilling operations and provide necessary decision-making guidance.
  • Provide technical input for business development plans.
  • Plan and acquire geological data to reduce uncertainty and enhance field understanding.
  • Support pre- and post-drill geo-mechanical analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for all planning and execution related to operations and development.

Required Qualifications:

A Master's degree (M.Sc. / M.Tech) or Ph.D. in Geology is required. Additionally, at least 8-12 years of relevant experience in the industry working on interpretation, geo-modelling, well planning, and operations is needed.
