Job Title: AI Governance Specialist

Overview:

This is a senior-level role focused on the administration and governance of AI tools. The ideal candidate will have expertise in AI applications engineering, strong understanding of data privacy controls, and compliance requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Configure and manage data privacy controls to prevent sensitive data from being used to train AI models.
  • Deliver comprehensive audit logs, compliance reporting, and monitoring for AI usage to ensure regulatory standards are met.
  • Implement robust guardrails and moderation tools to enhance AI application security and reliability.
  • Track and analyze model performance and usage metrics, producing regular reports for leadership to inform strategic decisions.
  • Optimize prompt engineering and evaluate cost/performance trade-offs to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to API calls, latency, and integration failures to ensure seamless operation of AI tools.
  • Maintain an internal admin guide with setup/configuration steps, governance rules, and best practices for AI tool management.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge bases and wikis for developers and end users to facilitate knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Deliver training sessions for IT staff to expand their expertise in managing AI tools and ensure comprehensive admin coverage.
  • Serve as the Tier 3 escalation point for AI-related incidents, providing expert-level support and resolution.
  • Collaborate with security, compliance, and engineering teams to expand the safe and responsible use of AI tools across the organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • 5-8 years of experience in AI applications engineering or a related role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in AI tools, particularly OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini.
  • Strong understanding of data privacy controls and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in configuring and managing AI tool environments securely and effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience delivering training and creating documentation.
