Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator with expertise in PostgreSQL and cloud database management. This is a long-term contract position, requiring knowledge of database architecture, high availability, and optimization in enterprise environments.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • Managing PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Performing advanced SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and schema design.
  • Ensuring database security, compliance, integrity, and backup/recovery strategies.
  • Collaborating with development teams to optimize SQL queries and improve database architecture.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database issues, providing on-call support for critical systems.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL (installation, configuration, replication, backup/recovery, tuning).
  • Strong expertise with Cloud SQL and advanced SQL performance tuning.
  • Solid background in Oracle DBA (RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, performance tuning).
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems for database administration.
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Nice to Have:

Experience migrating from SQL to PostgreSQL and knowledge of database monitoring tools and observability solutions are a plus.
