Job Title: PostgreSQL Database Specialist

Experience: 8+ years of experience in database management and development.

Type: Contract position

Duration: 6 months

Location: Remote work environment

Shift Timing: IST with overlap in EST

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Database Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Postgres SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Design and Development: Design and implement efficient databases using Postgres SQL, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  • Data Modeling: Develop and maintain star schema and fact & dimension tables to support business intelligence needs.
  • Semi-structured Data Handling: Work with semi-structured data formats such as JSON and JSONB in Postgres, ensuring seamless data integration and processing.
  • ETL/ELT Tools: Utilize ETL/ELT tools like Airbyte for efficient data transfer and transformation.
  • Dashboard Preparation: Prepare data for visualization in dashboards using Tableau, enhancing business insights.
  • Data Validation and Quality Assurance: Implement data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

Requirements:

  • Strong Postgres SQL skills, including advanced query writing, CTEs, window functions, indexing, and optimization.
  • Proficiency in data modeling, including star schema and fact & dimension table design.
  • Experience working with semi-structured data formats, such as JSON and JSONB.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools, particularly Airbyte.
  • Ability to prepare data for visualization in dashboards, preferably using Tableau.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective cross-functional teamwork.
