Job Overview

The Deputy General Manager Finishing plays a pivotal role in overseeing the fabric mill's finishing operations, leveraging expertise in fabric finishing and leadership to drive process improvements and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Management
    • Lead daily operations of the finishing department, including bleaching, dyeing, printing, washing, and other processes.
    • Ensure adherence to production schedules and customer delivery commitments.
    • Monitor machine utilization, efficiency, and workflow for optimal capacity.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Oversee quality control processes to meet customer specifications and international standards.
    • Drive initiatives to reduce defects, rework, and waste.
    • Implement best practices for process consistency and product reliability.
  • Process Improvement & Innovation
    • Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Introduce new finishing techniques and technologies to improve efficiency, quality, and sustainability.
    • Collaborate with R&D and technical teams on process development and new product trials.
  • Compliance & Safety
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
    • Maintain standards in line with customer audits, certifications, and sustainability requirements.
    • Enforce strict adherence to EHS guidelines within the finishing operations.
    Pre-requisites:
    • Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering / Chemical Engineering / Production Management or related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum 12+ years of experience in fabric finishing, with at least 5 years in a senior managerial role in a reputed fabric/textile mill.
