Job Title:

Vice President – Vessel Operations

Overview:

This is a senior leadership role within our organization, responsible for the strategic management and control of vessel operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in managing various types of cargo, including containers, bulk, breakbulk, project cargo, lifts on-lifts off, and RoRo operations.

Additionally, they must be skilled in managing people and external agencies effectively to ensure seamless operational activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Organize and control operational activities
  • Coordinate with principals, vendors, and allocate capacity to optimize revenue
  • Liaison with government bodies and resolve problems
  • Improve operational procedures and innovate services
  • Enforce operational standards to ensure fast vessel turnaround
  • Load and discharge cargo, manage equipment turnover, and coordinate with external agencies
  • Ensure cost-effectiveness, customer satisfaction, problem-solving, compliance, claim prevention, operational safety, capacity management, and team management
Requirements:
  • Graduate/Post Graduate degree from a prestigious institution
  • Approximately 18-20 years of experience in managing and controlling port operations, as well as equipment control
  • Master Mariners are highly preferred for this role
Key Qualifications:
  • Strong background in handling various types of cargo
  • Skilled in managing people and external agencies
  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills
