Key Responsibilities

  • Work with consumers to understand data requirements and deliver data contracts with well-defined SLIs to track SLA agreements.
  • Harness modern application best practices with code quality, API test coverage, Agile development, DevOps, and Observability.
  • Maintain programming standards and ensure the usage of the pattern/template for API Proxy.
  • Conduct code reviews and automatic test coverage.
  • Standardize the CI/CD setup for API management tools and automated deployment.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to help peers in the research and selection of tools, products, and frameworks.
  • Serve as the primary responsible individual for the management and distribution of ESG data across Equity, Hybrid, and Yield business lines.
  • Establish the ESG data health for the organization and drive the overall improvement of data quality.
  • Provide thought leadership for data governance and ensure data health/standards are aligned with broader Apollo mandate.
  • Partner with investment and ESG teams to integrate ESG data and research into the investment process, product development, and client/regulatory reporting.
  • Partner with data strats to support ESG data platform development, visualization, reporting, and proprietary insights.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in technology and/or data functions in financial services or consulting industry; bachelor's degree in IT or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience with establishing data strategies and data transformation implementations within a fast-paced, dynamically growing organization.
  • Experience in data governance and data-related process re-engineering and system transformation in investment management industry.
  • Hands-on development expertise in Java, Python, GraphQL, SQL, JUnit, Spring Boot, OpenAPI, Spark, Flink, Kafka.
  • Experience working in cloud data platforms such as Azure, Snowflake, Yellowbrick, Singlestore, GBQ.
  • Understanding of Databases, API Frameworks, Governance Frameworks, and expertise in hosting and managing platforms like Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Kafka, Spring Boot, BI Tools like Tableau, Alteryx, Governance Tools like Collibra, Talend.
  • Track record of involvement in data governance/transformation initiatives across business and IT functions.
  • Exposure to complex investment management infrastructure and landscape.
  • Strong ability to translate business data needs into system capabilities and/or process designs.
  • Knowledge of financial instruments (e.g., fixed income, alternative investments, equities, and derivatives).
  • Expert problem solver with the ability to identify and triage data issues to drive tactical solutions.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with partners and peers at all levels of the organization.

Additional Requirements

  • ESG & Financial experience: ESG specific data experience for public or alternatives asset management.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL/NewSQL databases.
  • Working with Azure API and DB Platforms.
  • Strong documentation capability and adherence to testing and release management standards.
  • Design, development, modification, and testing of databases designed to support Data Warehousing and BI business teams.
  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies, defect tracking (JIRA, Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, etc.).
