Site Reliability Engineer

About the Role

Our team is continuously improving the firm's IT infrastructure, positioning it at the forefront of a rapidly evolving technology landscape.

This is a team of experts experimenting with and discovering new ways to deliver exceptional end-user experiences while embracing enterprise agile methodologies.

The Technology Infrastructure team engineers and operates the foundational technology platforms that power all of the firm's applications and businesses.

  • Play a highly critical operational role, applying a combination of software and systems engineering skills to develop and maintain distributed, real-time systems that serve key stakeholders in the firm's Global business.
  • Optimize the operations of existing systems and infrastructure through automation and tooling, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
  • Build out foundational technical components of a robust SRE program across multiple complex systems, both new and existing.
  • Collaborate with development and quant teams to ensure changes align with measurable Service Level Objectives (SLOs) across user interactions.
  • Monitor system capacity and performance, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks and sources of instability before they affect stakeholders.
  • Review and provide feedback on automation code developed by peers, maintaining high standards of code quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, analyzing their impact on infrastructure and service operations.
  • Participate in or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders, evaluating and selecting the best technologies and automation strategies for the firm's needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Demonstrated work experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role.

Strong coding skills in Python and PowerShell; ability to comprehend C# and develop basic applications.

Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, cloud-based services and infrastructure (AWS), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and Configuration Management (Ansible).

Experience with container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, AWS EKS, and ECS.

Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of ownership.
