Job Description:

The role of an Associate is to play a pivotal part in the prosecution of trademark applications and oppositions. Key responsibilities include managing trademark portfolios, conducting thorough searches, and providing expert opinions on contentious and non-contentious trademark matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prosecute trademark applications, including post-registration prosecution and oppositions.
  • Manage trademark portfolios, ensuring all client needs are met.
  • Conduct comprehensive trademark searches to inform strategic decisions.
  • Provide expert opinions on contentious and dispute matters involving trademarks.
  • Represent clients at official hearings for trademark application and opposition proceedings.
  • Coordinate with Trademarks Registries to ensure timely disposal of requests filed during pre-registration and post-registration stages.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop effective strategies for their trademark portfolios.
  • Offer guidance on non-contentious trademark issues.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience in domain disputes, prosecution of UDRP and INDRP complaints;
  • Expertise in providing opinions regarding domain disputes, cybercrime involving trademarks; cybersquatting;
  • Ability to represent clients at official hearings in IPAB for trademark disputes involving rectification/cancellation actions and appeals.
  • Background in court proceedings related to infringement and passing off.
  • Proficiency in undertaking raids, search, and seizure operations.
  • Experience in prosecuting design and copyright registrations; offering opinions pertaining to disputes involving copyrights and designs.
