We are looking for dynamic professionals to lead our livelihoods initiative. This is a challenging opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of people in India who collect, sort, recycle, and sell materials others discard.

As Lead - Livelihoods, you will be responsible for implementing activities aligned with our project design, quality standards, and activity plans. You will work closely with the Director - Social Additionality to enhance technical quality through regular coordination.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • SUPPORTING PROJECT TEAMS TO EFFECTIVELY IMPLEMENT LIVELIHOOD ACTIVITIES
  • ENHANCING TECHNICAL QUALITY THROUGH REGULAR COORDINATION WITH THE DIRECTOR - SOCIAL ADDITIONALITY
  • DEVELOPING DETAILED IMPLEMENTATION PLANS AND BUDGETS; SUPPORTING PROJECT TEAMS IN ACHIEVING DEFINED OBJECTIVES AND TARGETS
  • ISSUING RELEVANT DIRECTIVES AND GUIDELINES FOR TIMELY AND EFFECTIVE IMPLEMENTATION OF PROJECT ACTIVITIES
  • PROACTIVELY IDENTIFYING OPERATIONAL CHALLENGES AND COORDINATING TIMELY SOLUTIONS WITH THE PROJECT TEAM AND DIRECTOR - SA
  • DEVELOPING KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT PRODUCTS SUCH AS CASE STUDIES, SUCCESS STORIES, TECHNICAL MANUALS, AND BOOKLETS SHOWCASING PROJECT IMPACT
  • PROMOTING REFLECTIVE PRACTICES TO CONTINUOUSLY REFINE STRATEGIES AND APPROACHES FOR GREATER IMPACT AND SCALABILITY

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also establish women-led Plastic Collection Centers and Collection Points within waste collector communities, launch e-tricycle-based plastic waste collection initiatives, implement skill training initiatives, and develop market linkages to ensure decent income opportunities for target groups.

You will forge partnerships with government bodies, private sector actors, and technical institutions for capacity building, technical, and enterprise support. You will build strong networks with key stakeholders to support the effective delivery of the project.

You will collaborate closely with the broader team and external partners. Experience in social business development is highly desirable. Prior experience working with informal sectors and vulnerable workforce is required.

A bachelor's degree in social sciences or related fields is necessary. You must have strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills. You should be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Strategic, decisive, and action-oriented approach is required. Results-driven with a strong sense of accountability is essential.

A deep understanding of poverty, governance, and advocacy contexts is needed. Excellent stakeholder engagement and networking skills are required. Strong documentation and report writing skills are essential. Effective communication and information management capabilities are necessary. Fluency in English and Telugu is essential; knowledge of Hindi is a plus. Proficiency in MS Office and other ICT tools is expected.
