Job Title: Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

About the Role:

The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for reviewing contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws. You will work closely with senior legal counsel and other departments to safeguard the company's legal interests and maintain required compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and negotiate contracts, including supplier agreements, vendor contracts, client agreements, service agreements, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
  • Ensure contracts comply with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Assist in developing standard contract templates and processes.
  • Work closely with business teams and advise on day-to-day issues and concerns related to client agreements.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to regulatory and legal requirements across various jurisdictions.
  • Conduct internal compliance audits and risk assessments.
  • Support development and implementation of compliance programs, policies, and training materials.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on legal risks and compliance matters to internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Prepare legal opinions and reports as needed.
  • Support corporate governance matters, including board meeting minutes and regulatory filings.
  • Handle general legal administrative tasks, including maintaining contract databases and records.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you must have an LLB or equivalent degree, 4-6 years of experience in a law firm or in-house experience, proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, good communication (written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills, and understanding of contract laws and commercial agreements.
