Job Title: Chartered Accountant - Direct Tax

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant with specialization in Direct Taxation to manage the organization's direct tax compliance, advisory, litigation, and planning activities.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in handling corporate tax matters, tax audits, transfer pricing, and regulatory compliance as per Indian tax laws.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of corporate income tax returns.
  • Handle advance tax computations, tax provisioning, and TDS/TCS compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to all direct tax regulations and timelines.
  • Tax Planning & Advisory:
  • Provide strategic tax planning advice to optimize tax liabilities within legal frameworks.
  • Analyze and interpret complex tax laws to provide practical solutions.
  • Advise management on the tax implications of new business initiatives.
  • Assessment & Litigation:
  • Represent the organization before tax authorities for assessments, appeals, and audits.
  • Prepare responses to notices and handle tax scrutiny assessments.
  • Coordinate with external consultants and legal counsel for high-stakes tax litigation.
  • Transfer Pricing:
  • Ensure documentation and compliance related to transfer pricing regulations.
  • Assist in preparing transfer pricing studies and dealing with international transactions.
  • Audit & Reporting:
  • Assist in statutory and tax audits; coordinate with auditors and resolve queries.
  • Prepare tax-related schedules and disclosures for financial statements.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and evaluate their impact on the organization.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with finance, legal, and business teams for tax-related matters.
  • Support M&A, restructuring, and cross-border transactions from a tax perspective.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant with minimum 2 years of relevant experience in direct taxation.
  • Strong understanding of Indian Income Tax Act, TDS provisions, and related regulations.
  • Experience in handling tax assessments, audits, and litigation.
  • Proficiency in tax computation software, MS Excel, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a top-tier consulting firm or large corporate tax department.
  • Exposure to international taxation and transfer pricing regulations.
  • Knowledge of automation tools for tax processes is a plus.
