Senior Medical Coding Professional

We are seeking an experienced and certified medical coder to join our team. As a senior medical coder, you will be responsible for accurately assigning codes to medical records in accordance with industry standards.

  • A minimum of 5+ years experience required in coding medical records for Inpatient and Outpatient Surgical Specialties, including Orthopedics, General Surgery, Cardiology, Spine, Oral, etc.
  • Ability to assign ICD-10-CM & PCS diagnoses and procedure codes correctly and completely.
  • Requires advanced technical knowledge in specific inpatient and outpatient surgical and medical specialties as assigned.
  • Extensive knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Experience in researching and applying coding rules and regulations.
  • Must have experience with data entry of codes into a database and/or software tool.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and a variety of EMR (Electronic Medical Record) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Average at least 500 lines per day.
  • Coding accuracy rate: more than 99%.
  • Communicate professionally with healthcare providers and office staff.
  • Create and manage reports and analytics using various tools.
  • Familiarity with health information management principles.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented individual.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field.
  • Certified Coder (CCS) certification from AHIMA/AAPC.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
