Job Description

As a Java Support Engineer, you will play a vital role in providing technical support and maintenance of Java-based applications. This position requires a strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts, expertise with popular frameworks like jQuery, prototype, and AngularJS, as well as experience in HTML5, CSS3, and Responsive design frameworks like Bootstrap.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Expertise in JavaScript-based frameworks and technologies
  • Good solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming concepts
  • Experience in developing Single Page Applications using AngularJS
  • Exposure to Node.js (an added advantage)
  • Understanding of Usability & UI guidelines
  • Experience writing code in Java at a familiarity level as a minimum
  • Familiarity with design patterns and web application architectures
  • Experience working with REST-based web services or other server-based APIs
  • Knowledge of Java enterprise development (Spring, JPA, EJB or JSF)
  • Knowledge of unit testing and build processes (Ant, Maven, Jenkins, Hudson or Cruise Control)
  • Hands-on experience with Java web application servers (JBoss, Tomcat, WebLogic, GlassFish or WebSphere)

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience including at least 1 year in a support environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
