Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Database Professional to oversee the administration and maintenance of our company databases. This individual will be responsible for ensuring database performance, security, and reliability in a dynamic technology-driven environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain company databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and scalability.
  • Develop and implement data models, database designs, and maintenance scripts to support business needs.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance using tuning and disk optimization techniques.
  • Resolve database performance, capacity, and replication issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Implement robust backup, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery plans to safeguard against data loss.
  • Install and test upgrades, patches, and maintain database security to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Automate database processes using scripts (PowerShell/Python/Bash) to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data warehousing and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Manage databases in cloud environments (AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL), ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in database administration, IT, or database architecture.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
  • Expertise in SQL, query optimization, backup, and recovery strategies.
  • Experience in performance monitoring, tuning, replication, and high-availability solutions.
  • Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell, Python, or Bash).
  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, database security, and user management.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, BI tools, and cloud-based database services.
