Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Energy Market Solutions Architect to join our team at Energy Exemplar. This is a unique opportunity to shape the strategic product roadmap and drive the development of innovative solutions that optimize energy market operations.

About the Role:

This role will be critical in defining, developing, and communicating the product roadmap, ensuring alignment with market needs, customer expectations, and business objectives. The successful candidate will have a strong background in energy markets, congestion analysis, and transmission planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Strategy & Roadmap Development
    • Define and develop the product roadmap, prioritizing features based on customer value, impact on the market, and alignment with business goals.
    • Identify market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes in energy markets to guide product innovation.
  • Energy Markets & Modelling Expertise
    • Lead product development with a focus on energy market modeling, nodal analysis, congestion analysis, and forecasting methodologies.
    • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and analysts to refine models addressing locational marginal pricing, transmission congestion, and other energy market dynamics.
  • Transmission Planning, Nodal Analysis & Congestion Management
    • Demonstrate a deep understanding of USA Nodal and its application in transmission planning, grid stability, and congestion management.
    • Drive initiatives to model and analyze network constraints and congestion patterns, ensuring reliable and efficient energy delivery.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Engage cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, operations, and customer success, to ensure seamless execution of the product strategy.
    • Provide insights to customers and internal teams as a subject matter expert in Nodal markets and congestion analysis.
  • Performance Measurement & Continuous Improvement
    • Define and track product metrics to assess performance, user engagement, and ROI, making data-driven decisions to improve the product.
    • Implement user feedback loops to continuously enhance product features and optimize user experience.
Salary:

The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Master's/PhD in Power Systems preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in product management within the energy sector, with a proven track record of roadmap ownership and product delivery.
  • Technical Knowledge: Expertise in energy modeling, nodal and congestion analysis, transmission planning, and knowledge of regulatory policies and market operations in energy trading.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in quantitative analysis, data-driven decision-making, and modeling tools.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Leadership Qualities: Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional teams towards shared objectives.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with energy market modeling software and grid simulation tools.
  • Understanding of regulatory frameworks and policies affecting energy markets.
  • Exposure to power transmission system design and grid management practices.
