US Tax Resolution Specialist



About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled US Tax Resolution and Compliance Specialist to support businesses with tax penalty abatements, compliance issues, and IRS/state tax resolutions.



Key Responsibilities
  • Review and resolve tax penalties issued by the IRS, state, and local tax authorities.
  • Prepare and submit penalty abatement requests (e.g., Form 843).
  • Communicate effectively with tax authorities to negotiate waivers and resolve disputes.
  • Collect and submit supporting documentation for appeals and compliance cases.
  • Stay up-to-date on US tax laws, penalty relief programs, and filing regulations.
  • Monitor and follow up on cases to ensure timely resolution.


Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of experience in US tax compliance, penalty resolution, or tax processing.
  • Knowledge of IRS and state tax laws, filing procedures, and penalty waivers.
  • Proficiency in tax software (Drake, TurboTax, ProSeries) and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
