Big Data Engineering Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader with deep expertise in Big Data platforms and cloud-native environments to lead a team of data engineers.

Job Summary:

About the Role:

  • This role involves leading a team of data engineers working on large-scale distributed data systems, architecting and overseeing the development of end-to-end data solutions using cloud services and Databricks, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful data products.
  • The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of experience in software/data engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role, and strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and mentor a team of data engineers working on large-scale distributed data systems.
  2. Architect and oversee the development of end-to-end data solutions using cloud services and Databricks.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver impactful data products.
  4. Drive best practices in data engineering, coding standards, version control, CI/CD, and monitoring.
  5. Ensure high data quality, governance, and compliance with internal and external policies.
  6. Optimize performance and cost efficiency of data infrastructure in the cloud.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience with Big Data ecosystems, Azure Cloud Services, Databricks, and strong programming skills in Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and performance tuning.
  • Experience managing Agile teams and delivering complex projects on time.
