Market Risk Manager

This is a highly specialized opportunity for a seasoned professional to lead risk management functions within the Enterprise Risk Management practice of a financial institution.

  • Establish policies/guidelines on Treasury/Investment/ALM/Liquidity risk monitoring, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Develop and implement robust methodologies for valuing Treasury portfolios – Forex, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Equity, and others.
  • Provide independent mid-office monitoring support on Net Operating Profit (NOP), Fixed income, FIG, Derivatives, limit monitoring, etc.
  • Monitor hedge effectiveness on a periodic basis, ensuring adherence to established frameworks and guidelines.
  • Implement and calculate Capital charge and Counterparty Risk Charge, in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Perform technical analysis of Equities, Bonds, and Money market funds, providing actionable insights for informed decision-making.
  • Conduct all types of limit monitoring with respect to treasury activities as prescribed in Internal and Regulatory policies, ensuring timely identification of potential risks.
  • Reconcile MTM with counterparty banks for derivatives deals undertaken and make/respond margin calls in term of CSA arrangement with them.
  • Prepare Regulatory and internal daily and periodical reports and Board notes on accurate and timely submission, maintaining transparency and accountability.
  • Enhance methodologies for counterpart credit risk measures like Potential Future Exposure (PFE), Credit Value Adjustment (CVA), etc.
  • Review banks' new products related to Market risk and provide risk mitigation controls, ensuring effective implementation of risk management strategies.
  • Monitor and simulate Liquidity Coverage Ratio (LCR)/Net Stable Funding Ratio (NSFR) requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Robustly monitor and risk report on Maturity of ALM products, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Set limits for Asset Liability Management (ALM)/Short-Term Asset-Liability Management (SAL) using statistical modeling techniques, ensuring optimal balance between risk and return.
  • Generate Interest Rate Risk on bank's book basis IRRBB or via Sensitivity Report analysis like Net Interest Income (NII) and Economic Value of Equity (EVE).
  • Have a good understanding of Behavioral studies of ALM products, including their impact on market dynamics and investor behavior.
  • Gain experience of ALM/Market Risk system from end-to-end, ensuring comprehensive knowledge of risk management processes and systems.
  • Pricing/Hedging of banking products across asset classes (Rates, FX, Bonds), requiring strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Be well-versed with Stress testing of Liquidity and Interest rate risk, ensuring effective management of potential threats and opportunities.
  • Know ICAAP, RAROC, FTP methodologies, RAS will be preferable, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle Audit queries and provide active assistance in audit, ensuring transparent and accountable risk management practices.

Experience: 6 -8 years of relevant work experience for Middle East banks.
