Business Intelligence Analyst Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Business Intelligence Analyst. As a key member of our data team, you will be responsible for managing large-scale databases, developing reports, and troubleshooting data issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Create, update, and delete master data records while ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • User Administration: Manage user access and permissions within our data systems.
  • Quality Assurance: Verify the quality of imported data and collaborate with quality assurance analysts as needed.
  • Data Set Governance: Commission and decommission data sets according to business requirements.
  • Confidential Data Handling: Handle confidential data and information in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Report Development: Assist in creating reports and analyses that meet business needs.
  • Reporting Environment: Design and manage the reporting environment, including data sources, security, and metadata.
  • Data Warehouse Support: Collaborate with the data warehouse team to identify and address reporting requirements.
  • Data Integrity Initiatives: Support efforts to improve data integrity and normalization within our systems.
  • Software Assessment: Evaluate new or upgraded software and assist in strategic decisions regarding system implementation.
  • Report Generation: Develop reports from single or multiple systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues within the reporting database environment and reports.
  • Change Evaluation: Assess changes and updates to source production systems.
  • User Training: Provide training to end-users on new reports and dashboards.
  • Technical Expertise: Offer technical guidance on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in computer science or a related field.
  • Work Experience: Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or in a related field.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work effectively with stakeholders to assess potential risks.
  • Tool Analysis: Capability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide recommendations for software solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise language for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Methodologies and Processes: High-level understanding of methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases.
  • Data Handling: Demonstrated ability to handle large data sets and relational databases.
  • Metadata Standards: Familiarity with addressing and metadata standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
