Risk Management Specialist

Risk analysis is a vital function that enables organizations to make informed decisions by assessing potential risks and opportunities. This role involves developing, implementing, and reviewing credit risk models and associated frameworks in an unsecured rural/semi-urban lending context.
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Developing, implementing, and reviewing credit risk models and associated frameworks in an unsecured rural/semi-urban lending context.
- Implementing and monitoring credit risk strategies across the lending life cycle, including acquisition, underwriting, cross-sell, and collections.
- Reviewing portfolios on a periodic basis across various risk metrics for early warning signals and analyzing portfolio trends to track portfolio quality against accepted risk parameters.
- Ensuring risk policies are timely reviewed and reflect the dynamic external environment and internal risk appetite.
- Analyzing industry data on a large scale, preparing management information systems/dashboards, and apprising senior management on changing market conditions.
- Regularly reviewing processes for adherence to risk policies and checking if controls are effectively in place and functioning.
- Coordinating with various internal teams to strengthen the risk framework.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following skills and qualifications:
Key Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor's or Master's degree from a top-tier college.
- 3-6 years of experience in managing risk in a non-banking financial company (NBFC)/fintech/lending organization.
- 2+ years of experience in Python and SQL is mandatory.
- Excellent understanding of data and ability to bring insights.
- Sound knowledge of statistical models.
- Experience in microfinance/MSME lending is an added advantage.
