Cashier Job Description

Utilizing enterprise resource planning systems to identify outstanding accounts, generate bills and invoices specific to customers, and reconcile all payments with invoices is a critical task in this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating sales orders after understanding customer requirements and needs.
  • Delivering invoices to clients via digital and traditional services, ensuring timely payment and resolution of any issues.
  • Receiving and sorting incoming payments, including cash, debit/credit cards, online payments, and UPI transactions.
  • Managing petty cash and identifying inconsistencies in transactions or pricing in ERP systems.

Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Regularly updating receivables specific to customer accounts.
  • Answering customers' queries and addressing problems in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Submission of all cash collected to the concerned authority at the end of the day.
  • Reconciliation of all payments received at the end of the day.
  • Preparing and submitting Daily Sales Reports to the Accounts team.
  • Generating monthly and quarterly reports and presenting them to the Reporting Authority.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Bachelor of Commerce degree or equivalent.
  • Understanding of accounting software and ERP systems such as Oracle/SAP.
  • Strong computational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently without oversight and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Robust written and verbal communication skill set.
  • Basic understanding of office software and machinery.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • One year of experience as a Billing Executive at a large format store.
  • Understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Passion for numbers and financial data analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with good time-management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Integrity and professionalism in all interactions.
