Accounts Payable Specialist (AP)

The ideal candidate for this role will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable within the U.S. market, with a strong understanding of U.S. accounting principles.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Review and process vendor invoices accurately and on time, ensuring proper approvals and adherence to company policies.
  • Manage payments to vendors according to terms and schedules, and reconcile payments with vendor statements.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of accounts payable ledger to the general ledger, identifying any discrepancies and resolving them promptly.
  • Communicate regularly with vendors to resolve payment inquiries, disputes, and other account-related issues.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
  • Maintain accurate records for sales tax and 1099 reporting, ensuring compliance with U.S. tax laws.
  • Qualifications:
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in an accounts payable or related finance role.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
  • Experience with accounting software - QuickBooks.
  • Knowledge of U.S. tax laws and regulations, including 1099 and sales tax.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Familiarity with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience in generating aging reports and MIS reports.

This is a critical role that requires a high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to achieve business objectives.
