Product Coordinator

The Product Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring seamless garment production, quality control, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development:
    • Select fabrics, trims, and accessories that meet design specifications.
    • Work with the Production Manager to develop samples, including fabric selection, construction, fit, and quality.
    • Review and approve samples to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Planning and Scheduling:
    • Develop yearly and monthly production plans with timelines based on order requirements, capacity, and lead times.
    • Allocate resources, including materials and labor.
    • Monitor progress and address any issues or delays to meet delivery deadlines.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Identify and select reliable suppliers and manufacturers.
    • Negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors.
    • Ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of fabric and trims.
  • Costing and Budgeting:
    • Prepare cost estimates for products, including materials, labor, and overhead.
    • Manage budgets and track expenses to ensure production costs stay within budget.
    • Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
  • Quality Control:
    • Establish quality standards and guidelines for production.
    • Conduct inspections and quality checks at various stages of production.
    • Implement corrective actions to address any quality issues.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods.
    • Replenish materials as needed to avoid production delays.
    • Optimize stock levels to minimize excess inventory and reduce costs.
  • Production Coordination:
    • Coordinate with various production departments.
    • Ensure smooth communication and workflow between teams.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain detailed records of production activities.
    • Prepare regular reports on production status, costs, and quality.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in textile engineering, fashion merchandising, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience: More than 5 years of experience in product coordination or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of textile and garment manufacturing processes.
    • Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
    • Pricing and profitability analysis.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
    • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical Skills:
    • Ability to analyze production data and make informed decisions.
