Database Administrator Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the high availability, performance, security, and reliability of our core databases.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with relational database systems such as MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle, as well as expertise in database monitoring and observability tools. Experience with cloud-based databases and automation tools is also highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain relational database systems on-premises and in the cloud.
  • Monitor database performance and tune queries, indexes, and configurations to ensure optimal response times.
  • Ensure data security, integrity, backup, and recovery processes are in place and regularly tested.
  • Automate routine database maintenance and deployment tasks using CI/CD pipelines and Terraform.
  • Support deployments by reviewing database scripts, migrations, and data patches for both on-prem and cloud environments.
Requirements:
  • Strong hands-on experience with MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle.
  • Expertise in database monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Performance Insights, Grafana, and pgAdmin.
  • Experience with cloud-based databases such as AWS RDS, Aurora, Azure SQL, and GCP Cloud SQL.
  • Familiarity with Linux environments, shell scripting, and automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
  • Good understanding of APIs, application-database interactions, and deployment workflows in microservices-based architectures.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of data governance, compliance standards, and healthcare data privacy regulations.
