Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned database expert to lead the development of our database infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing databases for large-scale applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Architecture:
    • Design and develop scalable database architectures that meet business requirements.
    • Collaborate with application development teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Performance Tuning & Optimization:
    • Optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures to improve database performance.
    • Implement indexing strategies and query optimization techniques to enhance database efficiency.
  • Database Administration & Maintenance:
    • Manage backups, recovery, and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
    • Ensure database security, access control, and data integrity through robust policies and procedures.
  • Data Integration & ETL:
    • Develop and maintain ETL processes to integrate data from various sources.
    • Implement data warehousing solutions for reporting and analytics.
  • Mentorship & Collaboration:
    • Provide technical guidance to junior developers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
    • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to drive business outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 8+ years of proven experience as a Database Developer.
  • Expert-level SQL programming skills (T-SQL, PL/SQL).
  • Strong knowledge of database design, data modeling, and normalization.
  • Experience with performance tuning and large-scale database optimization.
  • Proficiency in administration tasks (backup, recovery, security, replication).
  • Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data integration.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
  • Knowledge of additional databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle).

Experience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation.
