Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in administering PostgreSQL in production at scale and a strong understanding of Linux and shell scripting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for owning the toughest tickets, designing and automating deployments, tuning and optimizing database performance, and mentoring junior engineers in best practices.

About the Role
  • Lead complex incident escalations, resolving performance degradation, data corruption investigations, and large-scale failovers.
  • Design and automate PostgreSQL deployments in Kubernetes with Operators, crafting Helm charts and automation scripts.
  • Profile slow queries, balance workloads, and architect capacity planning to ensure optimal database performance.
  • Build and operate resilient clusters with Patroni, repmgr, and streaming replication strategies.
  • Architect end-to-end monitoring pipelines in Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager, integrating with ELK/EFK stacks for logs and traces.
  • Implement encryption at rest, TLS in transit, role-based access control, and audit logging to meet GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, and ISO 27001 requirements.
Requirements
  • 5+ years administering PostgreSQL in production at scale (v9.6–15+)
  • Deep expertise in Linux (RHEL/CentOS, Ubuntu) and shell scripting (Bash, Python)
  • Proven track record with Kubernetes and PostgreSQL Operators
  • Mastery of performance tuning: query plans, WAL tuning, connection pooling (PgBouncer, Pgpool-II)
  • Hands-on experience with Prometheus/Grafana monitoring stacks
  • Excellent problem-solving, written/spoken English, and customer-facing skills
