Job Title: Hostess

Join Accor's team at Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach as a Hostess, providing exceptional guest service and ensuring a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update restaurant guest history records.
  • Ensure a legible and up-to-date reservation book.
  • Coordinate the printing of all restaurant menus in liaison with the outlet Manager.
Operational Requirements:
  • Deliver the brand promise and provide exceptional, friendly, courteous, and professional guest service at all times.
  • Familiarize yourself with all food and beverage items on the outlet menu.
  • Be flexible in meeting special requests from guests for specific table assignments or other requests.
  • Maintain the entrance area and hostess station in a clean and orderly manner at all times.
  • Greet and seat guests in a professional and organized manner and offer the menu cards after seating.
  • Work in a supportive and flexible manner with other employees and other departments.
  • Treat all operating equipment and supplies carefully to minimize damage and reduce wastage.
  • Take reservations and manage table assignments for the outlet.
  • Follow all telephone usage guidelines while conversing with guests on the phone.
  • Wish guests farewell as they leave the restaurant.
  • Handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner and report guest complaints or problems to supervisors if no immediate solution can be found and assure follow up with guests.
Personnel Requirements:
  • Understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel's policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health, and Safety.
  • Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
  • Maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in the outlet and all other departments.
  • Attend and contribute to all staff meetings Departmental and Hotel training as scheduled and other related activities.
  • Project at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self-control.
  • Have a complete understanding of the Income Audit Section in the Operations Manual and Policies & Procedures.
Other Requirements:
  • Report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.
  • Have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel's rules and regulations and in particular the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health, and safety.
  • Comply with local legislation as required.
  • Respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel.
  • Be flexible in the job function and perform any other reasonable duties and responsibilities which may be assigned, including redeployment to other departments/areas if required, in order to meet business demands and guest service needs.
  • Attend training sessions and meetings as and when required.

Qualifications:
  • Relevant experience as a F&B Hostess or similar is an asset.
  • Diploma/BS degree in hospitality management, business administration, or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills & guest engagement skills.
  • Excellent problem resolution skills along with outstanding communication and active listening skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Proficiency in English.
