Job Profile:

Lead Buying Specialist

The company is seeking an accomplished buying leader to drive the procurement of sports and activewear products. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for curating product lines, identifying emerging trends, and developing effective merchandising strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire buying process for sports accessories, including sourcing and inventory management.
  • Design and implement compelling merchandising initiatives that drive sales growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends and capitalize on new opportunities.
  • Negotiate effectively with suppliers to maintain strong relationships.
  • Use data analysis to inform business decisions and drive growth.
  • Collaborate with design teams to develop innovative products.
  • Optimize inventory levels and forecast demand accurately.
  • Evaluate product quality and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct thorough competitor analysis and market research.
  • Lead and mentor the buying and merchandising team members.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant field such as marketing, business, or retail.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in the sports/activewear industry, preferably in buying or merchandising roles.
  • Proven track record of success in accessories buying and merchandising, with a focus on driving sales growth.
  • Strong understanding of the domestic and import supplier base, with a focus on building strategic partnerships.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex data sets.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities, with a focus on maintaining positive supplier relationships.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and relevant buying/planning software, with a focus on optimizing processes and improving efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on inspiring and motivating team members.
