EssentiallySports is seeking an accomplished editor to join our dynamic team. This role involves crafting and publishing high-quality sports content that captivates our vast audience.

Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous and creative editor who can work efficiently under pressure, ensuring that each article meets the highest standards of quality and accuracy. The successful candidate will be responsible for editing and publishing articles daily, collaborating closely with writers, editors, and other stakeholders in our fast-paced newsroom.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, and a keen eye for detail. They should also be able to analyze article performance metrics and use insights to enhance content quality continuously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Editing and publishing 20-25 articles per day to maintain the high quality of EssentiallySports.
  • Fact-checking and researching articles to ensure their accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborating with the content quality (CQ) team to refine and elevate published content.
  • Mentoring and guiding writers to help them grow and evolve as contributors to the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Media/Journalism, or a related field.
  • 6-12 months of experience in sports content editing, proofreading, or a similar role.
  • Strong command of the English language and understanding of American culture.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and guide a team of talented writers.
  • Passion for sports with eagerness to cover breaking news, live events, and in-depth analyses.
