We are seeking a skilled Sports Content Editor to join our team.

As a Sports Content Editor, you will be responsible for:

  • Editing and publishing articles daily, maintaining high quality standards.
  • Fact-checked, well-researched articles delivering value to readers.
  • Deep understanding of audience, fine-tuning content for maximum impact.
  • Closely working with writers, editors, and content managers in our fast-paced newsroom.
  • Mentoring writers to help them grow and evolve as contributors.
  • Timeliness is key—staying on top of breaking news to keep readers updated.
  • Working six days a week, aligning with a US-centric schedule.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Media/ Journalism, or similar discipline.
  • 6-12 months of experience in sports content editing, proofreading, or similar role.
  • Strong command of the English language and understanding of American culture.
  • Energy and creativity to elevate articles, ensuring each piece resonates with readers.
  • Analysis of article performance metrics to consistently improve content quality.
  • Basic understanding of SEO, including crafting engaging headings and subheadings.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and mentor writers.
  • Passion for sports, covering breaking news, live events, and in-depth analyses.
