Commercial Banking SME Role

This is a key position within our organization, focused on delivering high-quality commercial banking services to clients.

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Banking Consultant/Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. The successful candidate will possess extensive knowledge of commercial banking operations and be able to provide strategic insights, process consulting, and domain expertise.

The role involves close collaboration with stakeholders to drive transformation, support solution design, and ensure delivery excellence in commercial banking engagements. This includes acting as a solutions expert/advisor, translating complex banking processes into actionable insights, and owning RFP/RFI responses, solution creation, and go-to-market strategy for commercial banking offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a domain consultant and advisor in commercial banking engagements.
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of the Banking delivery function, including deep knowledge of maturies, platforms, geographical requirements, client support systems, and accelerators in the ecosystem.
  • Translate complex banking processes into actionable insights and business requirements for BPS functions.
  • Own RFP/RFI responses, solution creation, and go-to-market strategy for commercial banking offerings.
  • Drive and support digital transformation initiatives, such as process reengineering, automation, Gen AI, and workflow orchestration, in client banking operations.
  • Collaborate with delivery and technology teams to ensure banking domain alignment in solution implementation and ongoing service delivery.
  • Stay current with regulatory trends, market shifts, and technology innovations in the banking sector.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in commercial banking domain, with exposure to one or more areas like corporate lending, trade finance, cash & payments, risk & compliance, and client onboarding from operations standpoint.
  • Previous experience in consulting, transformation, or solution architect roles within an BPS function is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of banking processes, systems, and compliance/regulatory environment.
  • Good understanding of digital banking trends, banking platforms, automation, analytics, and FinTech collaboration models is a plus.
  • Ability to create and deliver impactful presentations, capability decks, and process views.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree with Master's degree in management or related field.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with Tier 1 or Tier 2 Global banks, either directly or via BPS engagements.
  • Global exposure to UK, US, APAC, or Middle East banking regulations and practices.
