Job Title: Senior Big Data Engineer

Our organization is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Big Data Engineer to lead the development of large-scale data processing systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in distributed systems, cloud computing, and big data technologies.

  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to work effectively with architects, product managers, and operations teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in Scala, Python, Apache Spark (batch & streaming), HDFS internals, and migration strategies.
  • Experience with Apache Iceberg or similar table formats like Delta Lake / Apache Hudi for schema evolution, ACID transactions, and time travel.
  • Proficiency in running Spark and/or Flink jobs on Kubernetes (e.g., Spark-on-K8s operator, Flink-on-K8s).
  • Knowledge of distributed blob storages like Ceph or AWS S3.
  • Experience building ingestion, transformation, and enrichment pipelines for large-scale datasets.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Helm) for provisioning data infrastructure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex data engineering projects on time and within budget. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required, and relevant industry certifications are a plus.
