Cyber Security Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Cybersecurity Professional to design, implement and maintain robust security measures that safeguard our IT infrastructure, applications and data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement solutions to safeguard our IT assets and applications.
  • Monitor networks and systems for security breaches, anomalies and threats.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.

  • Perform risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS)/intrusion prevention systems (IPS), virtual private networks (VPNs) and other security tools.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate security into DevOps practices.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain and update security documentation, runbooks and technical reports.
  • Educate employees on cybersecurity awareness and secure coding practices.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or Information Technology (or equivalent work experience).
  • Strong understanding of network, application and cloud security concepts.
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems, endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems, IDS/IPS, firewalls and vulnerability scanners.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell etc.).
  • Familiarity with tools such as Splunk, Tenable, Qualys, Wireshark etc.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks and regulatory compliance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), CompTIA Security+, Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) or GIAC.
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience in Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices.
  • Knowledge of container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Zero Trust Architecture.
