The Role

You will be responsible for managing and administering the backbone of our technological infrastructure. You will configure, install and maintain database management systems to ensure they run at peak performance.

You will manage user access, implement security measures to protect valuable data and develop strong backup and recovery plans to prevent failures.

You will support end users and application developers in solving complex problems related to database systems.

You will work closely with various teams to coordinate systematic database project plans that align with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Familiarize yourself with different editions of SQL Server and advise on when to use each to optimize.
  • Strong backup/recovery knowledge, including replication/failover.
  • Tuning and troubleshooting knowledge of SQL Server.
  • Experience using Azure SQL and related tools (Hybrid connections, etc.) is a bonus.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and manage Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Establish and maintain backup and recovery policy and procedures.
  • Provide proactive monitoring and performance tuning including physical server level, database level, and query tuning.
  • Create users and assign permissions based on authorized level of access.
  • Handle regular day-to-day IT Infra operations.
  • Installation of ms-sql, Applications and break fixing of H/W and S/W issues.
  • Working on Service Desk tickets.
  • Share technical expertise providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other team members.
  • Maintain documentation of the database environment and infrastructure.
  • Work with system administrators, architects, development teams, and business application owners to ensure database changes are in-line with operational standards.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Coordinating with IT stakeholders to fix issues.
  • Participate in internal/external audits to showcase IT compliance status.
  • Perform IT-related tasks and update status higher management on regularly.
  • Participating in Day/Weekly status review meetings.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in Operating Systems tuning and configurations.
