Senior Oracle Exadata DBA Position Overview

This role is responsible for implementing, configuring, maintaining, and ensuring the performance of critical Oracle RDBMS systems, including Exadata and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), to guarantee availability and consistent performance for clients.

A key aspect of this position will be providing hands-on support and expertise in Oracle database administration, cloud migration experience, and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. The successful candidate will be accountable for developing and sustaining multiple clients across various Oracle versions and platforms, ensuring operational readiness (security, health, and performance) for both on-premises and cloud-based Oracle environments.

The Senior Oracle Exadata DBA will work closely with clients to design, implement, and manage high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, as well as ensure database security and compliance across Exadata and OCI environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing and maintaining Oracle Exadata systems.
  • Managing Oracle databases on OCI, including provisioning, patching, backup, and recovery.
  • Leading end-to-end cloud migration initiatives from on-premises to OCI.
  • Designing and implementing high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
  • Monitoring and tuning performance using AWR, ASH, OEM, and SQL tuning tools.
  • Automating database operations using scripting (Shell, Python, Ansible).
  • Collaborating with cloud architects and application teams to support hybrid and cloud-native deployments.
  • Ensuring database security, compliance, and audit readiness across Exadata and OCI environments.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of production database support experience.
  • Hands-on experience supporting large-scale database environments.
  • Proven experience with Oracle Exadata systems.
  • Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, and Grid Infrastructure.
  • Experience with Oracle Multitenant (CDB/PDB).
  • Working knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate and Data Guard.
  • Experience working in UNIX, Linux, and Windows environments.
  • Public Cloud experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) required; OCI certifications preferred.
