Job Title:

Tax Consultant Professional

Overview of Role:

This is a highly skilled role in tax consulting where you will work with clients to address their complex tax needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client engagement and assignment handling
  • Providing expert advice on direct tax laws, including tax structuring, tax advisory, ongoing compliance, and tax litigation support
  • Independent analysis and research on technical issues, interpreting provisions under the income tax act and international tax
  • Representing clients in assessments, appeals, and other related income-tax matters before tax officers
  • Maintaining open litigation status, tax risks analysis, and defense strategy on an ongoing basis
  • Drafting submissions for tax assessments, appeals, penalties, show cause, revision, orders, refunds, recovery, rectification, and other income-tax proceedings
  • Developing good rapport with client management
  • Assisting seniors in execution and management of assigned engagements with team support
  • Proactive problem-solving of client tax matters
  • Identifying opportunities in existing client pursuits and endeavoring to convert them
  • Coordinating with seniors and partners on planning and management of assignments
  • Providing timely and high-quality services and managing client expectations
  • Updating clients on ongoing matters on a prompt and regular basis, keeping track of industry developments
  • Taking technical sessions as per learning and development initiative
  • Effectively handling team members which may comprise associates/trainees, etc
Requirements:
  1. Chartered accountants with experience in direct tax - income tax & DTAs, international tax
  2. Working knowledge of FEMA & corporate law
  3. Willingness to handle tax office matters
  4. Minimum 3-5 years post qualification work experience
