Job Summary

The Vice President of Expense Management and Accounting Control is a pivotal role at Goldman Sachs. This leadership position requires overseeing and managing all aspects of expense management, accounting control, and financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles, a focus on process improvement, stakeholder management, and a commitment to driving financial excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the expense management and accounting control team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.
  • Oversee accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Manage the end-to-end invoice processing, exception management, and variance analysis.
  • Identify costing saving opportunities and implement cost control measures.
  • Continuously improve accounting and expenses management process to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with various divisions and departments to ensure alignment with financial objectives.
  • Handle escalations and inquiries related to expense and accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in accounting expense management and financial control, ideally in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial analysis.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience in process improvement and re-engineering.
  • Proficient in using financial software and tools, including ERP systems.
  • Ability to handle external escalations effectively.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to contribute to the organization's growth.
