System Administration Role

We are seeking a skilled system administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with MySQL administration, Linux server management, and database performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • MySQL Administration: Install, configure, and upgrade MySQL databases; set up replication and monitor its performance.
  • Database Health Monitoring: Identify and troubleshoot metadata locks, slow queries, and replication lag; optimize database performance.
  • Linux Server Management: Manage user accounts, monitor processes, schedule cron jobs, update packages, and check system resources.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement backup and recovery processes using tools like mysqldump or Percona XtraBackup.
  • Patching and Security: Perform routine patching, upgrades, and security hardening for MySQL and Linux environments.
  • Troubleshooting: Resolve L2 support tickets and escalate complex issues to L3 with proper root cause analysis inputs.
  • DR Drills and Capacity Planning: Participate in disaster recovery drills and capacity planning exercises.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge base documentation.

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of MySQL and Linux fundamentals.
  • Experience with database performance optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures.
  • Familiarity with patching and security best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.
